This coastal trail brings visitors through the history of America’s most Irish towns
You’ve heard of the Freedom Trail. You’ve possibly heard of the Boston Irish Heritage Trail.
But did you know that there’s another mapped route along the coast of Massachusetts filled with Irish history?
The South Shore Irish Heritage Trail is a self-guided journey through nine scenic coastal towns stretching all the way from Weymouth to Plymouth, organized by the Scituate/West Cork Committee.
The trail, which opened last year, was inspired by the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland, as well as Boston’s Irish Heritage Trail. Run by a group of volunteers, the committee was inspired to to create the project during the pandemic.
