Overview

The Stetson Building is currently a medical building, but was the Stetson Shoe factory. Shoe quality was compared to how close it was to the “best.” Weymouth was considered the best shoe. Some claim the Union won the Civil War because they had shoe factories in the North. The South did not which adversely affected their army. Jeremiah Quinn was a boot maker at Stetson in Weymouth.
